Constellations of the South 🌌✨ Beneath the southern skies of Kerala, the universe slowly revealed one of its most beautiful regions. Captured near Harrison Malayalam Estate in Pathanamthitta, this frame holds the iconic constellations Crux and Centaurus rising together above the horizon. Hidden within Centaurus lies Omega Centauri, the largest globular cluster visible from Earth, a densely packed sphere containing millions of ancient stars. There’s something deeply humbling about looking toward the southern sky. Unlike the bright and familiar patterns we grow up with, these constellations feel distant, mysterious, almost untouched. Yet for a brief moment, they stood quietly above the hills, reminding me how much of the universe still waits to be explored. Mahoba’s students have not only looked at the stars, but have now taken a significant step towards understanding and discovering them. The AIASC 2026 Mahoba Training Program concluded successfully with a 2 day Teachers Training Program held from 13 to 14 May, followed by a 6 day Student Training Program conducted from 15 to 20 May. Through this initiative, students were prepared for the two month International Asteroid Search Campaign 2026. With the support of the District Administration Mahoba, more than 900 students and over 50 teachers were introduced to the world of real astronomical research. This initiative, led by SPACE India, gave the youth of Mahoba an opportunity to become part of a global NASA supported outreach programme. After more than five decades, humanity is once again stepping beyond low Earth orbit—this time with a vision far greater than ever before. Artemis II, launched on April 1, 2026, marks a historic return to deep space exploration, carrying four astronauts on a ten-day journey around the Moon and back to Earth. Aboard the powerful Space Launch System (SLS) and the Orion spacecraft, astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen embark on a mission that is not just about reaching the Moon—but preparing humanity to stay. This mission will test critical systems, validate deep-space navigation, and ensure that future missions can safely land astronauts on the lunar surface. But Artemis II is more than technology—it is a symbol of progress and inclusion. This mission is set to make history with the first person of color, the first woman, and the first non-U.S. astronaut traveling beyond low Earth orbit toward the Moon. It represents a future where space exploration belongs to all of humanity. Flying on a free-return trajectory, the crew will travel thousands of kilometers beyond the Moon, reaching speeds of nearly 40,000 km/h, pushing the limits of human spaceflight further than ever since Apollo 17 in 1972. Like Apollo 8 once inspired a generation, Artemis II is poised to ignite curiosity, ambition, and dreams across the world. This mission is not the destination—it is the foundation. A critical step toward Artemis III, where humans will once again walk on the Moon, and beyond that, toward Mars and deeper space exploration. 🌕 The Moon is calling again… and this time, we’re going back to stay. #ArtemisII #NASA #BackToTheMoon #SpaceExploration #orionspacecraft
