After more than five decades, humanity is once again stepping beyond low Earth orbit—this time with a vision far greater than ever before. Artemis II, launched on April 1, 2026, marks a historic return to deep space exploration, carrying four astronauts on a ten-day journey around the Moon and back to Earth. Aboard the powerful Space Launch System (SLS) and the Orion spacecraft, astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen embark on a mission that is not just about reaching the Moon—but preparing humanity to stay. This mission will test critical systems, validate deep-space navigation, and ensure that future missions can safely land astronauts on the lunar surface. But Artemis II is more than technology—it is a symbol of progress and inclusion. This mission is set to make history with the first person of color, the first woman, and the first non-U.S. astronaut traveling beyond low Earth orbit toward the Moon.
